Meet Olly

My name is Olly. I’m the founder of Lean Green Human Being.

I’ve been involved in health and fitness for over 14 years and hold qualifications from some of the most highly regarded institutions in the world, including the C.H.E.K. Institute in California.

I’m 35 years old, married with 3 kids and I live in the South of England, nestled in the heart of the South Downs National Park.

Although I’ve been a qualified personal trainer for a long time, my true understanding of health and fitness didn’t start until much more recently, when I discovered, first hand, that the “conventional wisdom” approach to health and fitness doesn’t really work.

Wake Up Call

In January 2010, I had a heart scan and was told that 25% of my heart wasn’t working. Left unchecked, this could lead to a heart attack within the next 3-5 years.

At the time I was 33 years old and in “great shape”. I worked out regularly, ate a “healthy diet” and lived a pretty “healthy lifestyle”. Not only that, I was also a qualified personal trainer. It was my job to teach other people how to be fit and healthy!

Sure, I looked the part, but that didn’t reflect the real truth. As I’d just discovered, looking fit and healthy doesn’t mean you ARE fit and healthy!


I was deeply stressed, dangerously over-trained and not recovering from exercise. This is because I was only concerned with the way my body looked, not the way my body felt and functioned.

This obsession with aesthetics, prioritising how the body looks instead of how the body feels and performs, is a dangerous mistake that has permeated the health and fitness industry and is damaging people’s health.

I was also stressed out because I was trapped in a company I had started 6 years ago and that
I no longer believed in. As well as compromising all of my personal values, the company had also cost me a life long friend and I hated it and desperately wanted to get away from it.

Because I was only concerned with the physical side of health and fitness, I didn’t realise how much this stress was affecting me. I now know that there’s a lot more to being healthy than just being physically fit. In fact, this may be one of the least important aspects.

Starting Over

I immediately stopped working out and started to spend a lot of time going inside and taking a long, hard look at what my life was truly like, not just what I thought it was like. I needed to get past the surface level stuff and do an honest audit of my overall health, not just a quick check in the mirror.

I started to take a step back from everything else and ask some very tough, soul-searching questions of myself. This lead me to question everything I thought I knew about health and fitness and turn it on its head.

The more deeply I contemplated all of this, the clearer the picture became. It was obvious that there was more to true health and fitness than what I’d been lead to believe. Like most people, I was just going through the motions and focusing on the surface level stuff. The truth is that health and fitness starts on the inside, not the outside.

Silver Lining

There’s nothing like the shock of a potential heart attack in the next 5 years to help you realign your priorities.

It made me realise that life is short and precious and it’s a crime to waste it doing something you don’t believe in, something that doesn’t make the world a better place.

Everything became clear and fell into place and I knew exactly what I had to do, whatever the consequences may be. Screw everyone else’s advice and opinions. I decided, then and there, that the “conventional wisdom” approach to business, health and fitness didn’t work. It was an outdated model built on shaky foundations.

More importantly, I had a long, hard look at my lifestyle, stress levels and health. I didn’t care what I’d been told, I was damned if I was going to be unhealthy.

Before I could move forwards and improve my health and change my life, I had to strip away all of the layers that had built up over the last 33 years. I had to get right to the core of who I was and what made me happy in life. Most important of all, I had to unlearn everything I thought I knew about health and fitness and find out for myself what really worked.

I began to understand that there was a lot more to health than just working out and eating a “healthy” diet. For a start, none of the experts can even agree on what a “healthy” diet is!

I knew that I had to start from scratch and find out for myself what really worked. The only thing I knew for sure is that the health and fitness industry is built on lies and gimmicks that don’t really work. The bottom line is not your health, it’s profit.

I went back to basics and spent the next two years rebuilding my health from the ground up, starting on the inside and letting it overflow to the outside. During this process, I realised that there’s a desperate need for simple, natural health and fitness advice that actually works. This became the foundation for the Lean Green Human Being.

A Glimpse Of The Future

I’m pleased to say that the Lean Green Human Being system works! I’m the prototype and now, 2 years on, my heart is back to full function and I’m fitter, healthier and in better shape than ever before. And this time it’s for real.

I’ve also tested the system on many clients, friends and family members with great success. The Lean Green Human Being works so well because it’s based on simple, natural principles that are not subject to fashion or the latest trend. There are no gimmicks or gizmos and you don’t have to diet or do hours of boring exercise.
